3D animated birth announcement
A playful, stop-motion style 3D birth announcement for Akhayel's e‑greetings service, made as a vertical short. Night turns to day and sunflowers rise, echoing the baby's name, Shamsa (Arabic for sun). The text, music and logo were supplied.
Project Brief
The client was expecting her baby girl and requested a vertical aspect, animated birth announcement video under one minute long, to share with her friends and family on the occasion.
The baby girl's name was "Shamsa", which is Arabic female variant for "sun" (originally: "Shams"), and the client wanted sunflowers and sunshine to be the theme of the animated artwork.

كانت العميلة تنتظر استقبال مولودتها وطلبت فيديو متحرك للمشاركة مع الأهل و الأصدقاء في هذه المناسبة، على ان يكون رأسي النمط و الا يتعدى دقيقة
لأن اسم المولودة "شمسة" أرادت العميلة أن تكون زهرة نبات عباد الشمس وأشعة الشمس موضوع الرسوم المتحركة الفنية.
A. Pre-Production
This is the understanding and planning phase, in this phase I did the following:
1. Conducted research
2. Looked for inspiration
3. Collected information and references from online and offline sources (and the client)
4. Brainstormed ideas
5. Created sketches
6. Came up with a visual story
--- The story was then broken down into sequences > scenes > shots
7. Created a proof of concept animatic for the client's approval
B. Production
This is where concepts end and labour begins, in this phase I did the following for each of the shots:
1. 3D modelling
2. Texturing
5. Lighting
6. Environments
7. Animation
8. Rendering
C. Post-Production
As production is concluded on the shots, this phase is where I brought them all together.
